This is the biggest key. Nobody knows how many people have it or have had it.
I was pretty sick in early January. Fever for a couple days. Cough that lasted about 3 weeks. Did I have it and work through it on my own? I doubt it (probably just the regular flu), but I have no idea.
To get an idea of the denominator, you have to not only test for people that are currently infected (one type of test), but also test for those that had it but beat it (test for antibodies which is a completely different type of test).
We won't know the final numbers on this thing for a couple of years.
