Flattening the curve is the term used. To me, it means 2nd order function turns negative from positive. Its when the curve begins to bend over, new values continue to increase but at a negative rate.
I was not up on the hospitalizations curve being a better indicator. I don't watch the Fed briefings. So thanks for that. It makes sense.
The point of my post was more that it seemed a little early to be saying campus would open. I do believe every indication is that summer will bring a decline in the virus. If testing capability vastly improves as late Fall cooler weather approaches, then maybe a campus full of students can stay ahead of any return - cuz I do expect there will not be much social distancing going on.
I did find it interesting that national news showed a rather large overlap among states planning to reopen soon and states without a handle on the curve flattening (so to speak). That included AZ, at least the way they reported it. I suspect that had a hand in why I posted also.
