Here is my modified plan to allow some true crowd noise at SDS games -

* Cancel the NAU football opener. It's the only Thursday game on the schedule. It's a throwaway game scheduled for Board of Regents budgeting incentives. The NAU game fee is a Board of Regents journal entry. Pay the 'Jacks so that the smaller state school is not hurt. The next game is away in Las Vegas, therefore our first home game could be BYU and not until Sept 19. That is followed by a USC away game, leaving the first conference home game clear into October.

* All returning students are required to take COVID-19 tests. Therefore, all students are cleared for classroom gathering. So why not SDS? And all have prepaid a "sports fee" that is part of their semester tuition. Open all the lower bowl of SDS as general seating for the entire student population. Crow boasts of 100,000 Sun Devil students. Let's get a bunch of them into the stadium. Many may stick around to become future Sun Devil season ticket buyers.

* A significantly disproportionate portion of football revenue comes from the big $$ executive suites. ASU can afford to invest a couple bucks in university provided testing for Legacy Section members that paid $500,000 a seat. Fill the enclosed executive suites with "clean" fan$ and make them feel special.

* Send every season ticket holder from the general seating sections letters stating that this year's payment will be applied to prepay next year's seats. Seating assignment stays the same. We can all pretend like 2020 never happened.
