As a point of fact, the e-mail was not leaked by Hurley. It was obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request by Yahoo and subsequently released by the university according to the article. Guessing Hurley is too smart and professional to leak such sensitive information. That said, it's difficult to keep a lid on these things with everybody's dander up and an assistant AD gone "purportedly" as a result of the complaints and the resolution process. To be fair, it should also be noted that Anderson has not yet publicly provided his side of the story. In the end there will be some parties unhappy with the final result. Lot's of egos involved. This is most unfortunate as the university is awash in lawsuits at a time when finances are strained due to the Pandemic. Also, the basketball program has finally been on the upswing. If RA did accept the private plane trip and golf outing from Bart Wear, the booster who is accused of sexual harassment in the complaint, 6 weeks after learning of the complaint as the article suggests this appears to be an exercise in poor judgement at the very least. Certainly bad optics. It seems that the ASU sports program is perennially dealing with one sort of scandal or another. My opinion FWIW is that it is best to let the situation play out and withhold judgement until all the facts are laid out.
