"Some folks are okay with going to the Cactus Bowl and the Sun Bowl," Anderson said. "But if anyone here is satisfied with that, I don't understand it." ... "We want to be in major bowl games on a consistent basis," #ASU AD Ray Anderson said. Not impressed with second-tier bowl games. ... Anderson also added that he believes the Sun Devils can be a top-15 team in the country and improve their status in their own conference. ... "We should be top three in the Pac-12, in my opinion, every season," Anderson said.

cudevil, hear is my concern; All this bravado has disappeared. When was the last time Anderson or Edwards claimed they were shooting for a Championship Bowl appearance? Where is the pressure that Anderson placed on Graham over body of work? Let's get down to Anderson's famous vectors. How are we doing against the national powers that Anderson feels that we should join. From recruiting classes for years 2018 through 2021 (I know that 2021 is incomplete) I randomly picked a few nationally recognized programs to compare 4/5 star signings to ASU.
Alabama - 67 4/5 star recruits
Ohio St - 67 4/5 star recruits
LSU - 53 4/5 star recruits
Notre Dame - 46 4/5 star recruits
ASU - 15 4/5 star recruits.
These national powers racked up 8 individual recruiting classes that each outperformed ASU's 4 year TOTAL. ASU's best recruiting year would not show up on these national power teams' radar. A 75% shortfall of prime talent will not meet Anderson's demands. How much time will he give Edwards?
Now how about competing within the PAC-12? Same 4 year analysis of 4/5 star signees.
Oregon - 43
USC - 35
Washington - 35
Stanford - 20
ASU - 15
Ucla - 14
Utah - 11
ASU's recruiting classes have received mid-PAC rankings. Reviewing these blue chip signings supports those rankings.
Mario Cristobal has gone nuts since signing a staff filled with good recruiters. USC and UCLA are destined to recover and rule California. Utah and Washington are always tough. Will Anderson give Edwards the same Major-Bowl-or-the-Door ultimatum that Graham received?
If Anderson manages the ASU Football Franchise and has a plan to triple blue chip signings, I sure have not seen it. Everytime we go up against Akron and Central Michigan for 3 star recruits I wonder if we have lost our way. How does Edwards intend to convince a dozen blue chip recruits that ASU intentions are to go for a Championship Bowl appearance?
