I was on my road bike this AM and had a flat but forgot to put an inner tube in my saddle bag so I called Lyft. The driver was a great guy and mentioned that he has a son that is a red shirt DB at WSU. The kid's name is Willie Taylor 111.
I asked if ASU was after him and he replied that CTG was going to offer him a scholarship but the rumor was that CTG was on his way out. There weren't any replacements being mentioned and Leach was after him in a big way so he committed to WSU. You know the rest of the story. Now the kid is stuck with a new coach and different schemes. His son regrets his decision and would have leapt at the chance to have played for CHE.
I think it is patently unfair that when a kid commits he is stuck with the decision yet the HC can pick up and go to greener pastures. My remedy would be that any kid that commits to a coach, and that coach takes another position, should be allowed to transfer with no restrictions.
