I always look at whether the qb moved his high school team's competitive level. Two of the four followed highly rated qbs in Brian Lewerke and Kyle Allen. Neither really moved their team to a significantly higher level, although Rattler really didn't get the chance his senior year, when he was suspended.

As an example, our own Bryce Perkins followed Bret Hundley and finally beat the loaded Hamilton Huskies. He moved his team to a higher level.

I just think if the qb is everything he is reported to be then the team should move accordingly. The only AZ HS product above that makes that move is Brock Purdy. Perry was very average before he showed up on the scene and transformed them into an offensive juggernaut. In my opinion, when all is said and done, I believe he will be the one we regret losing.

We will have to see as most of these AZ high school products did not or have not lived up to their lofty star rankings. Kedon Slovis is probably in the best position to do so because of the talent around him, but I think if you can't do it at the high school level in a less competitive state high school situation than say California or Texas, it will eventually catch up to you. We shall see!
