Why do people always assume that large means fat and slow? Here is a 322 lbs lineman that could have run down Many Wilkins on the field. 36.5” vertical, 4.86 sec 40. Can you jump out of a swimming pool? Dunk a basketball?
If ASU expects to join the Championship Playoffs elite, it needs lines that can compete with the opponents big lines. Heck, Alabama has line that goes 313, 327, 344, 360, 360. Why do you think Saban plays this line? They are all big, fast and strong. Alabama had a crazy Cajun strength and conditioning coach named Scott Cochran. One of his O-line drills was handstand races across the width of the conditioning room.
The ASU right side will be 273 lbs and 285 lbs. That means compared to Bama, ASU will be 54 lbs lighter at center and a combined 162 lbs lighter at the dive gap.
