Insurance gave me $4K for the lime green '72, for which I'd paid $3400. My loan was paid off, and I walked with $2800 and bought my next '72 for all the cash. Handful years later, I parlayed the '72 for a '70 Model orange Nissan Z-car flagship and restored it over the years (disassembled, sandblasted to bare metal, all new weather stripping, engine rebuild, the works).
After 30yrs, it got to where I preferred to look at it instead of driving it. She was a beauty! I yearned for more power. She now sits in Japan, owned by a Nissan collector gentleman who was managing the bullet train program for CA that eventually cancelled. I learned my beauty's fate a year or two after I had traded her in for a "last of the air cooled" 911, after I had contacted Lusti Motors about stumbling across the factory manuals (qty 2 engine & body) that had come with the car - while packing for a move. She was a showroom car, always looking like she had a thin film of water on her - with only paint on her. Only experts could tell there was no clear coat. I called her a pigment of my imagination. She had fulfilled her destiny.
