not directly related to this - but Jon Wilner has a story - written several months ago, but it is still posted - how Larry Scott's window of success regarding the PAC 12 Network is closing, and with a very limited means to salvage success.

Essentially, Wilner assesses the SEC, Big 12, Big 10 and ACC, and the current media deals in place, along with the termination dates for these deals.

When the music stops and everyone scrambles to find a dance partner, the SEC will likely become the sole product for the entire Disney/ESPN/ABC delivery platform, and with FOX possibly getting a Big 12 deal, etc. Apparently, CBS is walking away from the Big 10 as well, but Wilner thinks Disney will figure out how to capture that.

Bottom line - everyone has a dance partner - either new or existing - except.....[wait for it]...the PAC 12.

Wilner goes on to estimate the possible increase in media revenue disparity, and it is appalling.

Hard to imagine how the PAC 12 does not necessarily fall out of the Power 5, and become a member of the "Group".

We have discussed before how Scott appears to be over his head, and compensated beyond what can be justified, but based on this projected path, you have to wonder how the Presidents can ignore this scenario.

The conference presidents need to get an objective perspective as to Scott's "plan", simply to test viability and prospects for success. Based on Wilner's view, the prospects are bleak.
