I had been attending games since I started with the knothole gang in 1959. After seven years of college culminating with my graduation from Law School in 1975, I purchased my first regular season tickets. Like Big Ron, I moved around the Stadium going from the South end zone to the North end zone (to escape the speakers and the migraines that they gave me) to Section 206 and finally to the Loge. I'd still be going to the games if they hadn't gotten rid of the loge seats.
Instead, I bought tickets on the aisle about the 10 yard line. I wanted tickets because of my lack of mobility. The seats were smaller than the loge and did not fit my bucket very well. The cup holders were a nice thought but they took too much space out of the row. (I am not a small person vertically or horizontally). Since there was no exit at the bottom, people were constantly walking up and down the aisles so that seeing the game other than on the big screen was always an issue. Finally, the loudness of the music and noise drove my wife away and, frankly, brother John is not as much fun to kiss after scores as my wife is.
There were other obstacles such as parking and having to walk further from where the cart dropped us off. So, after 42 years as a season ticket holder I said enough. Now I have a very comfortable seat to watch my 55" oled Sony. I am only a few steps from the snack bar and it has Dr. Pepper stocked where Sun Devil Stadium didn't. Plus the bathrooms are closer and usually cleaner. I miss certain parts of the game experience and if they hadn't screwed up the Stadium, I'd probably still be going. But there is no comparison between my experience in that boondoggle of an "upgrade" and my living room.
