The data you show does not lie. The data show the resultant effects of having been exposed to the virus. The point of the virus showing no favorites is that if anyone regardless of age gets exposed to enough of it, they will get it. Its as simple as that. I think this is why all of the scientific efforts to promote social distancing are directed at nothing more than limiting the spread of the virus, while holding out for an effective vaccine.
We are taught from an early age that everyone is different. That is why everyone reacts differently. That is why some 19 yr olds die, and some over 60 are asymptomatic. Obviously - deaths are skewed toward the weaker bodies, typically indicated by age.
What I found interesting from this article was this, "but unlike the common cold and seasonal flu, it is not primarily a respiratory disease. It is a disease of the blood and blood vessels. It causes micro-clots in every single organ, damaging the entire body, including the brain. The most worrisome part is the long-term effects. Itís a new virus we donít know enough about and it appears to be mutating every two weeks."
It appears that everyone will get this virus. Based on 9% of the US population being affected to date after roughly 5 months, it will take another 45 months to get there at the present rate. Lets hope an effective vaccine is available to everyone in 12 months. If we play it safe right now - and it has to be across the board - we can slow the rate of infection and save lives in the next 12 months.
