Jon Wilner has an article where he identifies - 7 (I think) of the Pac 12 programs, and states their total athletic budget AND the amount contributed from football. ASU was not in the 7.
Generally, around $100M +/- is the total budget and around $75M is the contribution for football. (Actual results per program vary significantly - this is just my WAG as to an average.)
There are nuances in addition - e.g., sales of branded items - even if football oriented - were not included in the FB "contribution" amount.
so - if FB is eliminated entirely - worst case, most salaries can't be paid.
At ASU, men's bball appears now to be in the black. So - U4, Utah and ASU might be the only programs where this is true. But all other sports fail to cover their costs. (I think at ASU, wrestling may have a segregated endowment - created when it was resurrected a few years ago - but I am not certain.)
The PAC 12 is exploring obtaining a line of credit from one or more banks - where the future TV revenues are pledged as collateral - just to get some money to the schools "now". but I have no idea as to the status of this.
I may be completely "off" in this regard, but maybe Scott's "we will go it alone" structure for media rights will prove to be optimal in light of the quest for a lending facility.
