I am really going to miss college football. ASU was on the up swing so I will miss seeing what could have been.
If the teams play in the spring what will the seniors choose to do? Will they play or focus on the draft? The conferences will still have the united players to contend with. But with the postponement of the season till the spring may deflate some of the air out of their balloon as far as the covid virus thing. But the football players need to remember that they are playing for the school and not themselves. They are playing for the school and getting a paid education and all the other benefits that go along with it, housing, meals, tutors, etc. Football provides the funds for almost all the other sports so the privilege of playing for a school provides for the overall great college experience for so many other students also. If these players want it to be all about me (getting money for image likeness, revenue sharing, etc) then let them go play for the XFL or someplace else. But the schools also need to recognize the additional requirements that are put on the athletes. Now its almost a year round commitment with weight training and team workouts and film study etc. An athlete needs to be taken care of during these times also. Its the athlete from the less financially well off families that really have a hard time.
