There isn't much of an argument for an undercount. Further, in May, the University of Glasgow estimated that the average person dying of COVID would have lived, on average, 10+ years. So all these folks that recently discovered the term "comorbidity" don't understand that it doesn't mean you drop dead tomorrow.
And on the additional causes of death, it's not even clear that suicides are up as a result of COVID.
So again, the idea that there is an undercount faces some stiff headwinds.
