We've all bemoaned just how terrible the Pac-10's media deals were under Tom Hansen as we were warmly welcoming a leadership change. But.. What if Tom's terrible concessions (to only allow one Pac-10 football game on TV, stuck on a regional-only network, etc.) at the time was simply an honest acknowledgement of only tepid market demand for the product at the time?
Maybe the DirecTV issues were just Larry Scott not being as honest about the real value of the conference's value as he should have been to get the deal done?
I'm not saying that I want to go back to Tom Hansen type of old-school, conservative leadership, but maybe we were a little too hard on him.
