Jesse played DE at Thousand Oaks and graduated in 2003, about 10 years before my son. We used to go to all of the games and support the program long before my son played there, even though I went to Westlake HS. Haha.
He was a good kid, great kicker and a very tough DE. He once got tossed for a flagrant hit and had to sit out the next game. In 2002, he played with Ben Olsen, Dave Anderson, and other very good ball players. The 2002 team was one of the best ever and sent many players to D1 colleges and the NFL. The 2011/12/13 team also sent several players to D1 teams.
Thousand Oaks has had many talented players over the years. Unlike most of the power house programs, Thousand Oaks does not have a deep roster (they play with local kids) which means the most talented kids play both ways, O and D. Great for the kids but it creates big problems if they go down to injury. In 4 years, I don't think my son missed a snap until he broke his leg in a scrimmage, 5 days before the 1st game in his senior year.
Jesse was definitely and great TO Lancer and Sun Devil!
PS Thanks to Larry and Redding Devil for getting me back on the board!
