I suspect many of you CR's are like me - believing the NBA has intentionally alienated me as a fan, or simply left me - and my demographic - at the curb. At one time, I was a big Suns fan, tickets, etc., and was really dialed in during the 2 prior championship runs. I remember losing the coin toss with the Bucks for Kareem.
This season, I have only watched snips of the Suns during the playoffs, and yes, was happy when the Lakers were defeated.
I also noted that the Suns play an up tempo, pass/team oriented style, which makes this almost appear to be basketball. (Until the palming, traveling, moving screens, etc., are actually deemed "call worthy" transgressions, and until fouls are called without deference to the "stars", I don't believe the NBA is actually basketball. It is close, but really a different sport.)
However, Jason Whitlock - who has become my #1 sports (and more recently, culture) op/ed journalist - has an article about CMW and the Suns, which reveals info of which I was not aware. (I am certain many of you were in on the backstory, but I was not.) CP3 shines as well. "Good character" guys is not the half of it.
I am back on the bandwagon, albeit on the rebound as a fan, but will support CMW and the Suns from here on out.
I will be watching - again - Sunday, and will need to dust off my old orange and purple gear.
