Well, I have spent weekends in Stillwater and Manhattan and I got a lot of rest. Stillwater wins the close battle, but who cares! OSU does have a great golf course that Ping built for them and they haven't turned their course into a parking lot.
The television market is what is important and the SEC is smart in the directional move it's making. Their percentage of the TV market is small, but they are on fire and want to strike while they enjoy their glory. If the Pac 12 would get their act together, it would be very enticing for teams. The Rose Bowl did not get it's hype from slugs from the pac 10. We were good and the Big Ten was always worried and the TV market loved that game. We do control a decent size share of the national market, it's just the product that we have been putting on the field.
BYU shares a smaller market with Utah so it's out. San Diego is blanketed from LA as is Fresno State. Boise is just small, but is in a sustained winning record, but it isn't playing big boys every week and doesn't offer any market. Could a OU, OSU,UT, and TCU make us more powerful? It would offer us the The Dallas /Fort Worth areas plus Oklahoma and West Texas. Not the greatest, but it would make us stronger and hold off the SEC. We really do not need to grow, BUT we can not afford to lose any teams as it would weaken us. ASU for example has the 11th largest tv market and that isn't small!
