The presser is on YouTube. Sound quality was horrible.
1. Edwards remined me of my Uncle George when I was kid. Ask him a question about the Cubs and he would talk about his first days at boot camp during WWII. By the time he got to landing in England, I forgot what I originally asked.
2. If the players did anything other than stretching on the first day, I could not tell from the press conference.
3. A consultant once told me that people have 2 emotional setpoints. One is adaptive - created by social pressure and conditioned training. The second is primal, based on a person's psychological makeup. Under pressure, a person shifts from adaptive to primal. I hear an adaptive Edwards talk about the need to pass in college football. But then he focused in the running game - and never left. Under pressure, I expect Edwards to revert to his primal instinct to run the ball and control the clock. I bet a lot of opposing DCs will take the passing game away early to force Edwards into a one dimensional offense and turn Daniels into a 3rd down passer.
4. The backdrop was patterned with pitchforks, AZ Ford Dealerships logos and PAC-12 logos. Edwards was wearing a Sparky cap. Sparky won the beauty contest.
