In one of Laurence J Peters books he states, *If everybody is in charge - nobody is in charge.*
Everybody in this NFL Management model had other primary functions. Running a multimillion dollar major football program probably was not high on anybodyís daily activity list. So now, Crow sees his highest ranking athletic department officials trying to investigate this dumpster fire from inside the burning dumpster. I am sure that the NCAA will be skeptical if the Football Management Tribunal investigation only indicts a couple rookie coaches. Or if Athletic Department officials declare themselves innocent.
I see Crow with 3 choices. Create an ASU committee of other school officials that have other primary full time duties. Hire an outside agency. Take personal responsibility and run the investigation through his office.
Another ASU committee risks another *nobody is in control* scenario to the NCAA. Going to an outside investigator insinuates a *lack of internal institutional control.* I think he is forced to personally make the big decisions. I also think that at least 1 of the Football Management Tribunal will need to get the ax. I hope that itís not Boyd.
