Me too. But lacking confidence in a 50 yard field goal is not the answer. It starts with CHE demonstrating a propensity for aggressive play anywhere on the field, including more first down passing. CZ hit 18 of 19 within 40 yards and an additional 5 in the 40-43 yard range in 2019. Even a big legged college FG kicker usually hits only 50 or 60% or his 50+ yard long FGs. Therefore, do not expect Edwards to change his comfort zone much inside the 40 based on who is kicking FGs.
A 50 yard FG kicker vs a 40 yard FG kicker will not change Edwards approach to the game nor his overall strategy for the entire last 40% of the field. If you want to cherry pick a couple down and distance scenarios within a 10% band of the field, you need to include other deciding factors as well, but Herm is still going to be Herm until Hill can convince the HC that he can be successful utilizing a high risk high reward offense. It will take Hillís passing game to convince Edwards to not run Trayanum off tackle deep in enemy territory because Edwards knows that any of his kickers can get him 3 points and an INT gets him nothing but bad field position.
