Going into the last 2 weeks - ASU IS 3rd with Utah and WSU holding tie breakers.

Utah 7 - 3
ASU 7 - 3
UCLA 6 - 4
OSU 6 - 4
WSU 5 - 5
Let’s say
WSU beats Arizona with Washington left on its schedule.
OSU wins at home over ASU (it’s happened before) with a rivalry Duck game left.
UCLA beats USC with Cal next.
Utah loses to the Ducks then plays Colorado.
Ducks 10 - 1
Utah 7 - 4
OSU 7 - 4
ASU 7 - 4
UCLA 7 - 4
WSU 6 - 5
Now comes the Nightmare Scenario. Utah and UCLA finish with predictable wins. OSU, WSU and - gulp - even Arizona wins their rivalry games. Remember, this is just a nightmare, but the standings get ugly because of the tie breakers.

The Ducks fall out of the Championship Playoffs and back into the PAC bowl placements. Tie breakers put ASU in 6th position. Hello Mike’s Muffler Shop Bowl. I am not predicting this to happen. There is no way we lose to Arizona. But I’m not going to sleep very well until we come home from Corvallis with a win. We must win this week - then take care of business against the Cats!
