Agreed.
I did not want to be the first to play arm chair QB and second guess the decision about pitching - but looking back, it seems pretty obvious. I agree - as a 4 year senior, at the least, MP should have been given a chance to start either game 2 or 3. She does not have the velocity, and relies more on change of pace. Would have required the UM hitters to make adjustments.
Next year will be interesting. Alexis Cooper and Breanne Macha - see article regarding Red Mountain in today's Az Rep - seem to be the designated pitchers for next season. However, no one has any meaningful experience just yet.
