: :: He was a good NBA player but never became even a good low major coach. Owner of GCU told him he had to win low major WAC or he was gone. His team was worse than prior seasons and not only got blown out by NMSU but got beat by other teams in conference. Owner wants to move to WCC but won't get invitation unless they can win at a higher level. Menzies was hired as assocate head coach and paid more than $100,000 than he was paid at UNLV, to likely be head coach in waiting. Majerle should have started out as an assistant and learned how to be a coach. Hope he does that so he can work his way up to a head coach.
In the 1970s I was killing time window shopping in the Clotherie at the Biltmore Shopping Center while Mrs Big Ron was doing some serious shopping. As I walked in, Marley was placing some items on counter at the register.
The sales girl warned him, “This time, Mr Marley, please sign your name. Michael Jordan did not find it funny when he got the bill for your last purchase.”
Marley just laughed, “He can Afford it.”
